Project MoRe

Modular studies for browser & app

We developed with MoRe a tool, which enables to create studies through a modular principle.

Technologies used

We developed together with DESIGN-IT the first research app outside USA using the Apple ResearchKit and now we want to harness the advantages of mobile communication for research.

Situation

The use of mobile devices for research has great potential. For this Apple has developed the ResearchKit framework for the development of study apps. However, the development of an app is still time consuming and expensive, which means that a lot of study concepts can not be implemented.

Solution

We design and develop a platform to overcome this hurdle together with the University of Freiburg and sponsored by the state of Baden-Württemberg. Modular Research (MoRe) enables researchers to configure online a study through a modular principle and to invite participants through the browser or through the app to participate in the study.

  • Study paths
  • Configure conditions that lead to the next module depending on the participant data.
  • Questionnaires
  • Questionnaires can include different types of questions: MC questions, open questions, scale etc.
  • Usability
  • Designed as a one-page application (VueJS), the system offers an outstanding usability.
  • Role concept
  • Multicentric studies manage users in the roles of study leaders, center leaders, assistant, and participants.
